46 | Overdrive | June 2016 Custom Rigs Last call Final qualifying event for 2015-16 Overdrive's Pride & Polish championship to be held next month at Fitzgerald Glider Kits in Tennessee BY JAMES JAILLET T he last Over- drive's Pride & Polish event of the 2015-16 season takes place next month in Crossville, Tenn., at the Fitzgerald Glider Kits' parts and sales facility off of Interstate 40 in East Tennessee. The July 15-16 event will pit some of the coun- try's top show trucks in a two-day event that is free to the public. The event also features live music, a NASCAR simulator, food and refreshments, prizes and giveaways and more. All proceeds benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Six trucks and their owners from the show will qualify to compete in the 2016 Overdrive's Pride & Polish National Champi- onship round of judging, set to take place in August at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas. They'll square off against the Best of Show winners from the 2016 75 Chrome Shop Pride & Polish show and the win- ners from two shows held in 2015. Overdrive's Pride & Polish is sponsored by Overdrive Magazine, 75 Chrome Shop, Dynaflex, Fitzgerald Glider Kits, Hogebuilt, Panelite by Dieter's, Mac Trailer, ProMiles Software and AITA. Jeremy Hassevoort's 1986 Peterbilt 359 picked up a Best of Show nod at the 2015 Fitzgerald's Pride & Polish show in the Limited-Mileage Combo category. Vinnie Diorio's 1985 Peterbilt 359 won Best of Show at last year's Fitzgerald event in the Working Bobtail category. Photos by Brian Bourke
