Custom Rigs ReadeR Rigs 48 | Overdrive | June 2016 Navy Pete Stan Courter drives this 2016 Peterbilt 579 for E3 Cargo Trucking of Southaven, Miss., run- ning mostly in the Southeast and Midwest. The truck has a Cummins ISX15, an Eaton 10-speed, 3:08 40,000-pound Rockwell rears and an 80-inch bunk sleeper. The only customization is a U.S. Navy seal applied to the cab extend- ers to signify Courter's service to that branch from 1984-89. He plans to add the silhouette of an aircraft carrier on the sleeper's back with the words "100,000 tons of diplomacy." Hazmat-haulin' Pete Bryan Fontenot of Pattison, Texas, uses his 2011 Peterbilt 389 to haul mostly hazmat up the East Coast and through the central United States. The truck has a 485-horsepower Cummins with an 18-speed Eaton and 3:42 rears. Fontenot purchased the truck custom from DB Kustom Trucks of Antioch, Ill. Blake of all trades Blake Ballestrazze of Chico, Calif., uses this 1991 Peterbilt 379 and a Ravens spread axle flatbed to haul solar panels, racking and solar converters during the fall and winter. He has a Load King hydraulic lowbed to haul equipment during the summer, as well as a Western Construction Components rock end dump. The truck features a 3406B Cat with an E model Schwitzer turbo and a 14-6-13 Eaton- Fuller with 4:33 rears. Ballestrazze added cab lights across the top, an 11-inch drop visor and some lights on the bumper.
