June 2016 | Overdrive | 61 Fleet News YRC FREIGHT launched an Accelerated service option designed to deliver shipments one to two days faster than standard transit times by continuing to move them on weekends. The option is avail- able in the continental United States and as a cross-border service between the United States, Canada and Mexico. By Dean SmallwooD FACILITIES ESTES EXPRESS LINES, a Richmond, Va.-based less- than-truckload fleet, opened a new terminal in Markham, Ill., to meet increased demand throughout the Midwest. The 60-door terminal, which replaces a smaller facility in Oswego, is Estes' seventh in Illinois and is located near Interstates 80 and 294. Estes also installed a pho- tovoltaic solar power system at its terminal in Greensboro, N.C. The power system con- sists of 2,760 solar panels on the roof and generates 1 megawatt of electricity for the 130-door terminal that serves customers across the mid- Atlantic. HONORS DUPRÉ LOGISTICS, a Lafayette, La.-based tanker hauler, announced that the Louisiana Motor Transport Association recognized its Site Logistics Group subsidiary with the 2015 Safety Award for out- standing achievement in high- way safety in the 9-12 million mile class. The award was sponsored by transportation insurance provider Great West Casualty.
