The receiver pro- vides for longer range operation, easier programming and has a low power draw feature that makes it a suitable accessory for solar powered applica- tions. The model 8040 is a multi-pur- pose RF receiver that can be used in a variety of access control applications. For stand- alone appli- cations, a dry contact relay is provided for door or gate operator Model 8040 RF receiver activation, or for magnetic or electric door strike release. The receiver can also be pro- grammed for 26, 30 or 31-bit weigand output, making it compatible with most access control systems. "The new 8040 can be used with our MicroClik and MicroPlus trans- mitters, so distributors and dealers no longer need to stock different re- ceivers," said Richard Sedivy, DoorKing's director of marketing. "The 8040 programming is simplified with a selector switch built into the re- ceiver. Installers simply select which mode they want the receiver to operate in, and then proceed with transmitter programming." Another unique feature of the 8040 allows the installer to program a master transmitter, he added. The mas- ter transmitter allows the consumer to easily add additional transmitter codes to the receiver memory without having to put the receiver into a programming mode. "The 8040 uses a superhetro- dyne RF circuit which increases its re- ceiving range. Customers will be happy with the increase in range they will see," Sedivy stated.
