YAMAHA NAMES CONTEST WINNER Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A., announced Kylie Ahart of Marietta, Ohio, as the Yamaha "All-Amer- ican ATV Racer" at the recent Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) awards banquet. Ahart was voted to the top position by her peers, friends and fans in an online contest hosted by Yamaha as a person and racer who embodies All-American ATV Racing values. She was awarded a com- plete racing package from Yamaha and GNCC during the banquet and will represent Yamaha in the 2015 GNCC season. "The All-American ATV Racer contest was created to support the great racers and racing community within GNCC and to draw attention to Yamaha's U.S.-based ATV manufacturing," said Steve Nessl, market- ing manager for Yamaha's ATV/SxS group. "We couldn't be more excited to have Kylie, who is one of the most well-respected, up- and-coming GNCC racers, win and become part of the Yamaha team. We look forward to watching her race the Assembled in U.S.A. YFZ450R next year." SUZUKI FOUND NOT LIABLE IN ATV CRASH A jury recently found Suzuki was not liable for a 2007 ATV crash in Dolata v. Suzuki Motor, a Pennsylvania case. In the Allegheny County suit, the plaintiffs alleged that the 2004 Suzuki QuadSport involved in the crash had a design flaw, allowing the throttle to jam in the accelerated position, however the jury found that was not true, reported The Legal Intelligencer. In the original claim, the plaintiffs has also claimed that the ATV had a high center of gravity with no rollover driver retention, but the plain- tiff's crashworthiness theory was thrown out before the trial began. Defense attorney Clem C. Trischler of Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Ras- panti said that evidence showed debris in the throttle did not cause the crash, so the jury came to the right conclusion, he added. The plaintiff's attorney James Waldenberger of Kline & Specter said there were no plans to appeal. PSB DIGEST Kylie Ahart of Marietta, Ohio, will represent Yamaha in the 2015 GNCC season after winning an online contest. The new Kimpex Commander RS4 track kit has a $4,995 MSRP.
