PSB HOT NEWS CONTINUED FROM PAGE 3 650cc bike escorts leaders at APEC The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting held in Beijing in November brought together visiting leaders from the 21 member countries. Protocol had included motorcycle escorts for such dignitaries since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, but the bike escorts had ended on Jan. 1, 2004. Motorcycles rejoined the festivities in 2014, and the escort bikes were manufactured by a Chinese company, Zhejiang CFMOTO Power Co., Ltd. (CFMOTO). In the past, Honda and BMW motorcycles had been used for escort purposes. The CFMOTO 650cc twin-cylinder CF650G motorcycle was selected as the designated escort motor- cycle for the visiting leaders. The CFMOTO CF650G, standing out from more than 200 Chinese motorcycle companies, fea- tures a front-face design that stems from the guardian lion statue in Tiananmen Square. The vehicle body is mainly white, decorated with graphics of traditional Chinese colors of red and yellow, represent- ing the Five-Starred Red Flag and the magnificent Great Wall. The development of the CF650G took only 10 months and fea- tures a liquid-cooled parallel twin cylinder EFI 650cc engine with top speed of 177 km/hour (110 mph). The bike's ABS system is the first of its kind on a pure Chinese big cc motorcycle. It also has an electronically controlled adjust- able windshield. The fully equipped audio and video communication system on the vehicle ensures the real time connections between the motorcade and the control center. CFMOTO is the largest exporter of ATVs and UTVs in China. Based in Hangzhou, China, CFMOTO has a 1,300-strong workforce dedi- cated to producing quality vehicles, engines, spare parts and components. As a testament to its focus on innovation, more than 25 percent of CFMOTO's employees are dedicated to research and development.
