Building officials, architects, con- tractors, specifiers, designers and oth- ers utilize ICC-ES Evaluation Reports to provide a basis for using or approv- ing deck and railing products in con- struction projects under the International Building Code (IBC) and International Residential Code (IRC). ICC-ES president Mark Johnson explained the importance and rele- vance of the ICC-ES Evaluation Re- ports. "Homeland Vinyl and their listees can now reference the evaluation re- port to ensure building officials and the building industry that the product meets I-Code requirements," Johnson said. "Building departments have a long history of using evaluation re- ports, and ICC-ES operates as a tech- nical resource for the building department. Final approval of building products is always in the hands of the local regulatory agency." Johnson noted that ICC-ES thor- oughly examined Homeland's product information, test reports, calculations, quality control methods and other fac- tors to ensure the product is code-com- pliant. ICC-ES is the United States's leading evaluation service for innova- tive building materials, components and systems. ICC-ES Evaluation Re- ports (ESRs) provide evidence that products and systems meet require- ments of codes and technical stan- dards. For more information, visit the web site www.icc-es.org.
