24 • April 4, 2016 • Powersports Business ATV/UTV www.PowersportsBusiness.com Venerable Louisville show scheduled for Oct. 19-21 Powersports dealers just received an edu- cational boost with the announcement that Powersports Business and the Green Indus- try and Equipment Expo (GIE+EXPO) are partnering to present a UTV dealer training program at GIE+EXPO, which is scheduled for Oct. 19-21, 2016, in Louisville, Ky. GIE+EXPO is the largest trade show for the outdoor power equipment, lawn and gar- den equipment, light construction and land- scape industries. Because UTVs are capable of enhancing prospects for businesses in those industries, it was a natural fit for Powers- ports Business to provide UTV dealer training through GIE+EXPO. The UTV education sessions will be held the first day of the show, Oct. 19, from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. The education program will have a trade focus and will feature classroom-based sessions conducted by recognized powersports industry experts. "Nearly two out of three UTV buyers accessorize their units, and one in three buys the UTV with accessories pre-installed, so there is profit to be made by showcasing and upselling accessories with the sale of UTVs," Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI) president Kris Kiser said. "Even better for UTV dealers, 40 percent of UTV buyers pur- chase their accessories from UTV dealers. GIE+EXPO is the natural a natural home for this growing market." "We're thrilled to partner with GIE+EXPO and bring UTV dealers the type of profit-build- ing educational seminars that Powersports Business has become known for," said David Voll, EPG Media LLC, VP of Powersports/ Green Division. Powersports Business editor in chief Dave McMahon, who has formed the speaker lineup and managed dealer educational seminars for the past four years for Powersports Business, added, "The UTV category continues to grow, and we're expecting more of the same in 2016. Knowing that consumers on average purchase more than $1,700 in accessories on UTVs, we're eager to present a lineup that will help dealers target the UTV buyer." With more than 400,000 UTVs sold in North America in 2015 and more growth on the horizon, UTV dealers have an abun- dance of current and prospective customers. Powersports Business once again will provide a seminar lineup that will provide dealers with insight into how to do business with those customers.
