TBA Northern California K&N FILTERS ROUTE 66 NHRA NATIONALS Harley-Davidson V-Rod rockets Hines to win Hines sets new track E.T. record and wins his second season fi nal Joliet, Ill., July 10—Harley- Davidson Screamin' Eagle/Vance & Hines rider Andrew Hines charged to a fi nal-round Pro Stock Motorcycle win at the K&N Filters Route 66 NHRA Nationals at Route 66 Raceway. Hines blazed through the fi eld on a Harley- Davidson V-Rod drag bike to claim his second win in three fi nal-round appearances this season. Counting three additional wins by rider Ed Krawiec, the Harley-Davidson Screamin' Eagle/Vance & Hines team has won fi ve of six Pro Stock Motorcycle fi nals on the 2016 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series. Hines qualifi ed eighth for Sunday eliminations with a 6.881-second run on Saturday. He improved on that time in three of four runs in Sunday elimi- nations, including a 6.833-second run in the fi rst round that was the quickest of the weekend and set a new track record for low Pro Stock Motorcycle elapsed time (ET). "I was hunting around for a good tune-up in qualifying, and after that fi rst round on Sunday I knew my V-Rod would be the bike to beat in eliminations," said Hines, the defend- ing 2015 NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle champion. "Low ET for the race and a new track record is a great way to start the day, and that may have been my best run of the season so far. From there it was just a matter of making straight, consistent runs down the track." Hines and Krawiec race on com- petition motorcycles inspired by the unrelenting performance and sleek street style of the Harley-Davidson Night Rod Special, a motorcycle powered by a liquid-cooled 60-degree V-Twin engine ready to breathe a little fi re onto the street and is available at authorized Harley-Davidson dealer- ships.
