97 www.thunderpress.net THUNDER PRESS nAugust 2016n Dog, a few BMWs, Bonnevilles, a Moto Guzzi, and even a Zundapp. Most of the vendors were laid out around that track and you could buy posters, hats, tacos, toys and posters. And over on the side of the track, show regular Damsel in Defense was selling self-defense products geared towards the ladies. The cars were scattered all over the campus, among them the Southern California Bullitt Mustang Club with several cars lined up. I also saw a lot of Porsches on the fi eld. Other interesting things included a glider ride, which started out at $125 and was later dropped to $100 per ride. The silent auction had a bunch of tables with items up for bid that included tickets, spa visits, jackets, pedal cars and the like. Near each item was a clip with the bid amounts and you signed up next to the highest bid, so if you wanted something you had to keep coming back to see if your bid was still the highest. Among the vendors that were motorcycle-related was Heroes Motorcycles, who make and sell customized motorcycles. They had a 1955 K model Harley-Davidson and a 2015 model with an S&S Shovel- styled engine. Also here was Southern California Motorcycles of Brea with a couple of Bonnevilles and Ducatis. Also of interest as you entered the grounds was a display of several old farm implements running, many of them made by Deerfi eld McCormick. It's fun to see all the gears and belts operating and hearing the mechanical sounds they made. Some were hooked to machines to show what could be done with them. Although I did not see them personally I did fi nd that out Chad McQueen and Perry King were here and they each picked out a win- ner. A well-known man among the motorcycle community named Micah McCloskey, now retired (says he is working out of his home garage), selected the Ghost Rider bike built by Brad Boyle. The Magician's Best Trail Bike trophy went to Rudy Pock for his race-winning 1971 Harley-Davidson Baja 125cc. The trophies were made by the boys at Boys Republic. They also got to pick out a winning bike and they chose a Big Dog chopper. 4 Steve McQueen Continued from page 86 ARIZONA PHOENIX Buddy Stubbs Arizona Harley-Davidson 13850 N.
