24 nNovember 2016n www.thunderpress.net THUNDER PRESS H ow is it possibly November already? Not that it's been sneak- ing up on me, I've been out buying Christmas presents, so I know that time of the year is almost upon us. But the surprising part is my favorite toy runs are already upon us. I've got a couple events I always attend—and if you've been read- ing this column for any amount of time, you know I'll always tell you about them! Starting with my buddy Jeff Givens (congrats on that new job, my friend!) Jeff is supposed to send me numerous updates as the planning goes into the Rockabilly Extravaganza on November 26; sadly that has not happened (new job, maybe?) so I've been left to my own devices, which I can handle, with no problem at all. While this is sort of an adult event, keep in mind it's kid friendly too, if you've got kids bent that way. For them, look for pedal car drags, soap box derby, or rides in World War ll planes. There are at least 10 bands, a record hop, a pinup contest, a Rock and Roll Magician(?) I'm fairly sure this event has it all! Hit the Riverside Airport early and spend the day looking at the many cars and motorcycles, enjoying the music carnival rides and food! Admission is only $10, kids under 12 free. Cars are $25 and bikes $15, both include the driver. Hope to see you there!… Honda Ray confi rmed the date for the Totally Kids ride is November 13, 10:45 a.m. at the center, 1720 Mountain View, Loma Linda, or meet up at the Chopper Place, 4791 Doan Ave, Riverside (951.687.6655) for donuts and coffee, kickstands up at 10:00 a.m. sharp. There's a Facebook page for the One More From the Heart ride with the very specifi c list of needed items. If you can't fi nd it, they love cold hard cash! A mystery ride to lunch will fol- low… The Pet Rescue Center is having a Dog Day Afternoon Luncheon to raise funds for their facility. Featuring a Doggy Fashion Show! Call Christine Madruga at 760.398.7722 for more information or to purchase tickets… I've got a few birthdays this month also, so happiest of birthdays to all of you! Starting with Steve Sanchez, hope your birthday's a fun one! Marina Sanchez have an excellent day! Dave Woods here's hoping all your buds help you whip up a great birthday. Terry Wallgren, hope your birthday is dandy! We sure miss you and Mary down here on our rides. Kathy Page, in Tennessee, hope your birthday's great! And to Bill Williams, have a great day. Joshua Armendariz, you have a fun birthday too! Halle Fetty and hubby George are on a cruise to Hawaii as I write this, but Halle says to wish her sis Nina Kessler a super happy birthday! And while on the subject, Valley V-Twin's friend of the shop Corey Simmons in Australia; hope you have a fun day down under Corey! Jim Shuler hope your birthday is all you planned for it. Mark Wasserman here's wishing you fun for your birth- day. Same for Wynn Storton. Ed Fortelny hope your November 2 birthday is fun. Dave St. Peter hope this Nov. 7 is your best yet. Steve Cockrell of the CREW, sure hope your birthday is great. Annette Seay, also of the CREW, hope your day is sweet. Birthday greetings also to Jim Smyth also. Cindy Gano from up north, have lots of celebra- tions (we sure miss you down here Cindy!). Happy birthday wishes to Michelle Smith. Also birthday congrats go out to Charles Frey. Happy November 3 birthday to ABATE 1's Steve Broughton too! I always appreciate the updates Steve. Happy Birthday to the CREW's Richard Bush. And happiest of birthday to Jeff Givens, hope you have time to relax and enjoy it! A little out of my area, but when have I ever let that stop me? Happy birthday to Jim Morrow in Detroit! Donna Cox of Texas, also not one of my areas, but I know certain friends will make sure you see this. And to our own Wendy Perry— hope your birthday brings Bubba home, so you can enjoy your birthday the way you love! JoAnn Ewing of Arkansas, hope this year's birthday is super! And last Jerry Grusell, hope this fi nds you spend- ing winter somewhere warm—like here in SoCal? And last, Happy 71st birthday on October 30 to Bob Lawson. And while we're on birthdays— make it a happy 241st to the Marines! Finally, in memory of George and Halle's dad I hope there are happy memories on his November 28 birthday… Marcia Reich, Mike's been sharing your fall foliage tour and we've been enjoying his company at local events, but missing you… That's it for me this month. Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. It's my favorite holiday and I look forward to the fun, conversation, friends and yummy food! See you all in December; until then—enjoy your ride!
