26 nNovember 2016n www.thunderpress.net THUNDER PRESS the Real McCoy—to make our way to Foster's Bighorn in Rio Vista. The roads, and the scenery, made you want for more distance between stops. Any of the places along the way would be a good choice for dinner, drinks, and entertainment. The relaxed down-home feel to these establishments personifi es life along the river, and most can be accessed by boat. With the fi fth card stamp on our route sheets we crossed the Rio Vista Bridge, and once again picked up Highway 160 towards Isleton. Heading east with the sun on my shoulder a good a good feeling came over me. Not only had it been a mag- nifi cent day, and a feast awaited me at Peter's Steak House, but also all this is for a worthy cause. Upstairs from the restaurant is where the party was going on with a full bar, and live music by Steve Foster and Friends. On the balcony, raffl e prizes were given out and the riders handed in their poker hands. A high-end barbe- cue grill was up for grabs along with a 50/50 raffl e, high, and low poker hand plus many other prizes. This was the 20th annual Black Widow's poker run, and the club was founded for the very purpose of rais- ing money for the hospital. The fi rst Saturday of October is dedicated to this selfl ess endeavor. This is their Super Bowl; this is what the Black Widow's work tirelessly all year for; to bring some well-deserved joy and relief to kids that need it most. If you would like to be part of these good times for a good cause please look them up at blackwidowspokerrun.org. 4 Black Widow's Continued from page 22 Life on the Delta (L.–r.)
