7 www.thunderpress.net THUNDER PRESS nNovember 2016n is that this is something people will remember, and it makes people think about something that changed the country and the world forever. I think it's more important what the White Heart Foundation is doing to help dis- abled veterans. The fi rst thing is how do we make this safe, and secondly, how do we make it happen. I think that there's something that's very free about riding a motorcycle on Pacifi c Coast Highway through Malibu with the ocean air blowing in your face. I also feel that a lot of veterans are part of motorcycle clubs throughout our country and I think that's a really important thing, it brings community together—women, men, children. It's awesome for Naval Base Ventura County to host the fi rst part of the event and what it's become over the years is awesome. This is the ninth year and we look forward for more to come." We picked up some cool White Heart apparel and checked out this year's cool raffl e prizes before gearing up to hit the road back south. With a little bit of everything, this event is up there as one of my favorites. If you haven't been, I highly recommend it. How often does one get a chance to run red lights while riding down the California coastline with hundreds of other bikes? Put this one on your cal- endar! For details on next year's ride, or to make a donation to Caleb, visit White Heart's website at www.WhiteHeart.org. 4 (L.–r.) Marine Cpl. Matt Fergusson, unilateral amputee Navy Petty Offi cer Second Class E5 Jordan Stevenson, triple amputee Army Specialist Jose Martinez, and White Heart Executive Director Ryan Sawtelle are fl anked by representatives of Frontier Communications who present their contribution this year of $10,000 Bikes line Malibu Canyon Road where 2,977 fl ags, one for each victim of the 9/11 attacks, fl y in remembrance at Pepperdine University's Alumni Park
