Welcome to the National Catholic Forester Spring 2012 Edition — 2011 Annual Statement The challenge for us is not an either/or, but how to adopt the best of both sets of attributes: not only 2010-2014 Board of Directors FRONT ROW: National Vice President Margaret Schmitt, National Secretary Patricia DeNys, National President Margaret Babinat, National Treasurer Jon Mocol. BACK ROW: National Director Jane Uselman, National Director Linda Ortiz, National Director Catherine Hensel, National Director Thomas Meyer, National Director Loretta Nelson, National Director Rosalie Pyle, National Director Carol Clauson The season of growth and renewal in the natural world around us motivates us toward new life and a lively involvement in fresh ideas ... Several Board members attended the American Fraternal Alliance Conference last September in Denver and brought back important information and insights. Participating in workshops and networking with our professional peers from other societies provided rich opportunities for growth in knowledge and understanding of our common purposes and the challenges we all face. Our NCSF values and those of other fraternal societies encompass stability, security, honesty, and caring. We are also required to be professional, smart, energetic, and contemporary. A commercial company's reason for existence is to maximize profit; ours is more about mutual support and care. The challenge for us is not an either/ or, but how to adopt the best of both sets of attributes: not only profitability, but also a continued on page 4 2 National Catholic Forester — 2011 Annual Report profitability, but also a fraternal spirit that demonstrates the Corporal Works of Mercy and a willingness to serve the Lord.
