p ST. JOSEPH COURT 513 was organized in September 1900 by the Women's Catholic Order of Foresters' Mrs. Susanna Thiel and Mrs. Mary Kasper with eighteen members and a number of transfer members. The court has been very active over the past years applying, living and doing the Society motto of Love, Benevolence and Charity. St. Joseph Court 513 published their own cookbook and has had their own newsletter. Their members have helped at the local soup kitchen, volunteered at the hospital and donated to the many charities in various ways. For example, Court 513 adopted an orphan through the Christian Foundation for Children. Yearly, St. Joseph Court 513 participates in the seminary burse. Court 513 has participated in the National Project to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Association since its institution in 1988. The court raised over $75,000.00 by collecting at the churches on Sunday morning and later by participating in the "Walk". Golden Jubilee h C since 1900 CELEBRATES 112 YEARS ST. JOSEPH COURT 513 OF HAMMOND, INDIANA Court 513 has organized trips for the past Gary Diocesan Association including a trip to Our Lady of the Snow in Belleville, IL and to St. Mary's of the Wood. Saint Mother Theodore Guerin, the founders of Sisters of the Providence, was the fi rst women Saint from Indiana. She was canonized in October 2006. St. Joseph Court 513 is proud, too, of the scholarship and grant recipients among their junior members. St. Joseph Court 513 has also had two National Offi cers: Rita Schneider was National Director 1988-1994 and National Vice President from 1994-2002; Patricia DeNys was National Director 1998-2006 and National Secretary 2006 to present.
