How important is LIFE INSURANCE to you and your family? BY: NATIONAL SALES MANAGER VICTOR MENSAVAGE Pictured above, John Hill (center) with his wife Cara, accepting his certifi cate of recognition as 2011 Top Producer in life insurance from National President Margaret Babinat (right). Recent industry studies have shown that the life insurance industry of today is not what it once was. It is apparent that life insurance has taken a back seat to many other things that are important to the family. Let me share some startling numbers from recent LIMRA research. • 30 percent of U.S. households have no life insurance • Only 44 percent of U.S. households have individual life insurance – a 50 year low! • 11,000,000 U.S. households with children under 18 have no life insurance. Another statistic that is truly concerning is that 82 percent of Americans are underinsured! Who is going to take care of your family if the unexpected happens to you? I know the answer as I have experienced this personally with the loss of my father and have seen and heard the horror stories of others as a result of my years in the insurance business. My family's life changed – and not in a good way. My mother had to return to the workforce after years of being a stay-at-home mom. Dealing with the loss of a loved one is tough enough, but dealing with the loss of a loved one and the loss of income is unbearable. Pictured above is 2011 Top Producer in annuities Gordon Gully (far right), accepting his certifi cate of recognition from National President Margaret Babinat (in purple); with wife Bonnie and daughter Jennifer. Life insurance can make a big difference in people's lives if they just take the time to look into it. It is one of the most unselfi sh acts a person can do for their family, but unfortunately it is happening less now than ever before. Again, don't be one of those 82 percent of Americans that are underinsured as I can assure you that you are never prepared for the unexpected. 82% Please contact your local NCSF Insurance Producer or Home Offi ce Solutions Center at 800-344-6273, extension 210 or 234 for a cursory review of your existing coverage or to fi nd out more about our current life insurance products.
