JUNIORS JUNIORS JUNI ----------------------- Calling All Pet Lovers How could anyone resist the eyes of a dog, cat or other animal that has become homeless as a result of a family's financial hardship or serious tragedy? Many of our communities have experienced devastating tornados and flooding and dearly loved pets that have survived these disasters but have no homes to go to have filled our local shelters to capacity. This, of course, makes it very difficult for dedicated caretakers, mostly volunteers, to keep up with the need for food, shelter and most of all, time spent with these wonderful creatures in an effort of trying to assure them that someone cares. This is where NCSF comes in and can show that WE care! The broken hearts of family members by the absence of their beloved animals is overwhelming, so let's see what we can do to help mend these hearts for this much needed cause ... Here is a fun suggestion for our junior members so that they know that first, they are very important to us and secondly, that their rewards will be endless when having compassion for these creatures of God who are unable to help themselves: l Contact a local animal shelter and request a time for a group of juniors to visit and shower their attention upon the animals who have not had anyone hug them for quite some time. Ask the shelter what is needed most: food, toys, and towels and don't forget those pet treats! Remember to take lots of pictures of our junior members with these beautiful animals! And please, forward these pictures to us to be featured in the National Catholic Forester! 16 Other ideas … l It's picnic season and the cost of admission? … an unopened bag, box or can of pet food! Do the same for … l A pool party l Bowling party l Back yard BBQ l And please don't forget when contributing to a local "people" food pantry to add unopened food for pets! There is a tremendous need while families are striving to feed their loved ones ... which, in many homes, do include their devoted animals. Can you just imagine the unconditional love from these animals that our juniors can take back with them and know that they have made a real difference in their lives? And, for the courts that have already begun 'giving' to this much needed cause, we are very proud of you and your timeless efforts of Love, Benevolence and Charity. You are truly, someone to admire! Remember … NCSF will pay $3.00 per Junior Member and $2.00 for a guest to your court for holding an activity. Many thanks!
