------------------------ Join Hands Day ~ May 5, 2012
IORS JUNIORS JUNIORS
Your court can participate by partnering with one or more community groups (e.g. American Legion, a grade school or CCD class, Girl Scouts / Boy Scouts, 4-H Club, etc.) to plan and complete a project that will benefit your community.
This is a day to bring youth and adults together through volunteering. Together, the generations join to plan and carry out projects in their own neighborhoods.
Some Fun Ideas: l Collect stuffed bears (and other animals), write messages to tie or clip onto the bears and give them to local police departments to use in comforting children.
l Assemble "Summer Fun Reading Bags" for children to encourage reading and learning over the summer.
l Plant a vegetable garden at a seniors' residence or children's center.
Complete a Join Hands Day summary form for your project and the Home Office will reimburse your court $30 for expenses and refreshments. To obtain a summary form, either call Rosemary at 1-800-344-6273 ext. 207, email at rosemaryadmin@ncsf.com or visit www.ncsf.com under Court Relations to print out a summary form.
