As for the most difficult hole on the course, Lasell didn't hesitate in teeing up No. 14, a double dogleg with a water hazard in the middle and a creek flowing down the right side of the fairway. Even though it's not overly long – 372 yards – it's one of those holes that doesn't need to be lengthy to have golfers muttering in their beer after a round about how things were going great until that point and time in their game. Asked the best way to play that particular beast, and whether an iron off the tee is the wisest way to go, Lasell said it is but he has his own idea on what works best there. "I just try to hit it in the creek. Then you're shooting three from about 80 yards away!" As for the rest of the layout, it has a slope rating of 126 and the course rating is listed at 70.2, both from the blue tees. The tee boxes and fairways are a bluegrass/fescue mix while the greens are a bentgrass/poa mixture. "We aerate as part of regular maintenance with no interruption to your enjoyment of the course," said Lasell. To go with their customer-friendly green fees, the rates at the RV park are also designed to put a smile on your face. They run from $30 for a daily fee; to $150 for a weekly rate that includes power; and the monthly charge, which also includes your unit's power, is priced at a reasonable $475. Along with your parking spot and power on 30 and 50 amp breakers, for your fees you receive water and sewer service. By the way, the campground is open year round and the roads in are maintained so access isn't a problem, even in the dead of winter. Seeing as how the RV park is open all year it only made sense that the clubhouse's restaurant, which offers an unbelievably good and varied menu, is also open all year. "We had it open this past year for breakfast and lunch which didn't work out too badly," Lasell noted, and as people get used to the restaurant being there, and open, they'll head in that direction. Since they're the first golf facility in the Swan City to throw its doors open each spring and the last to bar the door in the fall, Lasell was asked how that idea becomes fact. "One reason is we're a little bit more open than the other two 20
