Initially developed in 1992, Meadowlands Golf Club started as a nine hole course with amazing promise. Fast-forward two decades and the course continues to evolve every season. Already in the early planning stages of development, Meadowlands Golf Club at Sylvan Lake will ultimately evolve into one of Alberta's premier golf getaways. This year Meadowlands will be hosting two major charity golf tournaments to raise funds for provincial and local charities. On July 28th 2012 the fourth annual Stacy Regier Memorial Golf Tournament will tee off in support of the Calgary Health Trust. To date the tournament has raised $85,000 for the Calgary Foothills Hospital Intensive Care Unit; these funds help guarantee that every patient can receive state- of-the-art medical treatment in their time of need. Stacy's tournament is aimed at raising money through good times, great people, and golf. Meadowlands is proud to partner with the Canadian Cancer Society to host and coordinate the inaugural Drive "Fore" the Cure tournament on August 17th. Recently touched by cancer, the owners of Meadowlands Golf Club feel the need to fight back and are aiming to raise $30,000 to be divided evenly amongst Breast Cancer research, Prostate Cancer research, and the Central Alberta Cancer Centre. Both tournaments are open to the public and guarantee a great day of golf for a great cause; sponsorship options are also still available.
