Feast with the beasts at the zoo VISITORS WILL FIND a feast for all the senses at the 2011 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel a la Carte at the Milwaukee County Zoo. The event runs Aug. 18-21 and showcases 28 restaurants, offering a range of cuisines. Adding to the fun are national acts performing on the event’s stages. The lineup features Thursday, Jerry Garcia Band; Friday, Sister Hazel; Saturday, The BoDeans and Sunday, The 52nd Street Band (music of Billy Joel). Activites are set for every member of the family. For example, at the Giraffe Village Wine Tent, visitors can sample a premium glass of wine while enjoying sooth- ing sounds from popular local bands. Activities for kids include the artistic fun of Kohl’s Color Wheels, a mobile art experience, featuring activi- ties like a playground of paper, splatter drawings and animal sculptures. All musical entertainment is free with regular admis- sion, while food tickets and Zoo rides and special attractions can be purchased for an additional charge. A la Carte hours are 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $13.25/Adults , $10.25/ Juniors (ages 3 to 12), Children (ages 2 and under) FREE, Seniors (ages 60 and older) $12.25 and parking $11.
