Exciting sounds and tastes of Mexico at Summerfest grounds Aug. 26-28 Visit the Cultural Pavilion to see beau- tiful arches, remarkable water foun- tain and handcrafted artisan works from the states of Mexico. Don’t miss the mouth watering Pan de Feria–tra- ditional festival bread baked fresh every day by master bakers Carlos Roldan. The “Guest of Honor” at the pavilion is the State of Jalisco. Also, this is the spot where visitors can learn how to trace their “Mexican roots.” The culture and artwork from other South American countries will adorn MEXICAN FIESTA brings the sounds, culture and tastes of Mexico to Milwaukee’s lakefront Maier Festival Park (Summerfest grounds) Aug. 26-28. The festival offers entertainment, exhibits, contests, shop- ping, food and other attractions from noon to mid- night all weekend. This year promises even more spectacular all week- end concert featuring classical ballet as well as folk- lore ballet, all accompanied by a mariachi band extravaganza. Sports and entertainment collide in the wrestling ring at Mexican Fiesta on Saturday and Sunday. Lucha Libre, Mexico’s famous masked superstars, will be featured. 26 the Cultural Pavilion. In addition, live theater returns to Mexican Fiesta every day of the festival, where Teatralerias presents Ana Luz Navarro Rincon in “La Muertre Irredenta” by Elia Varga Sastre. Musical performances throughout the weekend include international recording superstars and other top acts: Mariachi Joya de Mexico, Conjunto Primavera, Little Joe, Patrulla 81, Banda MS, Maribel Guardia, Conjunto Baraja de Oro, Tejano Highway 281, AJ Castillo, Carlos Y Alejandra, Da Krazy Pimpz, Ricky Guzman III, Grupo Stampede, and much more mariachi, salsa and merengue. The new Rock en Español Stage will bring fun con- temporary sounds to Mexican Fiesta.
