FOCUS PSB Snow 26 • September 8, 2014 • Powersports Business www.PowersportsBusiness.com Dayco gets local industry award Dayco Products, LLC, a manufacturer of belts for the snowmobile and ATV markets, has been named the 2014 Large Industry Award winner by the Walterboro-Colleton (South Carolina) Chamber of Commerce. The award, voted on by members of the chamber, is given to a large industry that is a proven leader within the Walterboro, S.C., community. Walterboro-Colleton Chamber of Commerce membership consists of more than 300 members, and only one business can win this award. "The Dayco family has been a proud member of the Walterboro-Colleton County community for over 40 years and is excited to accept this award," said Tom Green, direc- tor of North American Operations – Flexible Components for Dayco. "Dayco can attribute its success during this period to the dedicated and hardworking associates who take pride in manufacturing the highest quality products and delivering those products to our custom- ers on a timely basis." "We are proud to have Dayco as an indus- try leader in our community and proud that Dayco has chosen to call Colleton County home," said Jeremy Ware, president and CEO of the Walterboro-Colleton Chamber of Commerce. "We look forward to work- ing with Dayco in the upcoming year and appreciate its continued investment in the Walterboro-Colleton Chamber of Commerce and our community." In June 2013, Dayco celebrated 40 years of operation at its Walterboro belt manufacturing plant. Opened in 1973, the Walterboro plant is home to more than 130 employees who pro- duce v-belts and serpentine belts for the both the original equipment industry and the auto- motive aftermarket, as well as performance belts for the ATV and snowmobile markets. EAST COAST SNOCROSS, FXR FORM MARKETING PARTNERSHIP Officials at Clarksburg, Mass.-based East Coast Snocross (ECS) announced a new three-year marketing partnership with high performance snowmobile outerwear manu- facturer FXR Factory Racing, Inc. FXR is the official outerwear supplier for International Series of Champions' (ISOC) AMSOIL Championship Snocross series. FXR also supports several race teams across the snowmobile and motocross industries. "We are thrilled to have FXR join our family of marketing partners here at ECS," series general manager Shawn Achilles said. "We've worked alongside the ISOC crew the last few seasons and have heard some great reviews of their products. I'm confident that our track officials will look professional this winter and stay warm and dry, as well. We look forward to promoting FXR apparel here in the east in the next few seasons with great pride." "FXR is excited to have a presence with the east's pre- mier snocross sanctioning body," said Doug Rust, marketing/ special proj- ects manager for FXR. "We know East Coast Snocross has some great athletes and loyal fans. We want those folks to know that FXR has the best winter outerwear for their needs. I look forward to following this series and gain- ing some new customers in the northeast. FXR offers hundreds of different styles and colors of jackets and pants for men, women and children. Along with jackets and pants, FXR also offers gloves, boots and casual lines. FXR was founded by Milt Reimer, a for- mer motocross racer who ran a powersports dealership in Morris, Manitoba. Reimer saw a need for high performance snowmobile out- erwear and began working on a few designs to be assembled by a local manufacturer. Reimer's humble start began in the basement of his home. Thanks to Reimer's experience at the racetrack, FXR has always paid close atten- tion to sizing, fitting and venting in its snow- mobile clothing in order to provide the best possible product. East Coast Snocross, presented by AMSOIL and Woody's Traction, is the eastern regional affiliate of ISOC. ECS strives to maintain a healthy level of competition in grassroots snocross, while also cultivating new talent for tomorrow's factory-backed national teams. ALMANAC PREDICTS COLDER WINTER FOR MUCH OF U.S. The Farmers' Almanac is predicting a colder winter for much of the U.S. this winter, according to a press release distributed in August by the International Snowmobile Manufacturers Association. The publication DIGEST With Levi LaVallee spearheading the company's ISCO AMSOIL Championship Snocross series, FXR will get to promote its snowmobile outerwear on the East Coast Snocross circuit.
