FOCUS PSB Snow www.PowersportsBusiness.com Powersports Business • September 8, 2014 • 27 has been predicting the weather since 1818 and touts an 80-percent success rate. The 223-year-old chronicle of climate pre- dicts an especially cold winter in the eastern two-thirds of the country. In the words of the author of the Farmers' Almanac, "We should look at this upcoming winter as not just colder — but think of it as a 'Refriger-NATION.'" Normal precipitation is expected over most of the U.S. and Canada, and the Farm- ers' Almanac has noted that the first 10 days of January will be a time for active wintery weather featuring heavy amounts of snow. CALIBER PACKAGING GETS NEW LOOK The folks at Caliber have been the authority in trailer accessories since the early 1990s and are innovators for snowmobile loading and transportation solutions. At the forefront of their product offering is the wide range of glides and traction options for snowmobile trailers. Up until now, all Caliber products were packaged into plain white boxes, with a basic label. At the end of the day, the boxes were not bringing any added value to the Caliber product, nor bringing any additional awareness about their features and benefits. Brand manager Dan Riley spearheaded the project to completely redesign every pack- age in the Caliber snow lineup. "We included a sight window on key prod- ucts for the consumer see, touch and feel the product, gaining a better understanding of the quality associated with the Caliber name. And every box received a full-color wraparound graphic depicting action photos, diagrams, and spells out key features & benefits." The new and improved packaging will bring improved positioning for the brand, as well help consumers make an educated decision. "The new packaging, coupled with our improved online configurator, and dealer dis- plays offers dealers the unprecedented oppor- tunity to grow sales." JUDNICK MOTORSPORTS ADDS AIRGROUP AS 2014-15 SPONSOR Lake Nebagamon, Wis.-based Judnick Motorsports has added Airgroup to the sport of snocross and its family of sponsors. Airgroup Radiant is a worldwide logistics pro- vider that has a network of service centers and agents worldwide. Airgroup fields a professional off-road motorcycle team and through a chance meet- ing this summer, expressed an interest in get- ting involved with snowmobile racing. "As an avid snowmobiler myself, what an exciting activity to be a part of," said Airgroup Minneapolis branch owner Thomas Heinsen. "Airgroup Radiant Racing is exited to expand its motorsports presents by sponsoring Jud- nick Motorsports as well as the ERX facility this season." "We are really looking forward to working with Airgroup this season," team owner Scott Judnick said. "Anytime you have the oppor- tunity to expose a new company to the sport of snocross and promote our sport outside of traditional circles, it's really exciting. Airgroup already has a working relationship with our long-time partners AMSOIL and Jack Links, so it is a perfect fit." Judnick Motorsports is beginning its 18th season on the national snocross tour with 2013-14 race winners Ross Martin (Pro Open) and James Johnstad (Pro Lite) poised to make a run at championships in their respective divisions.
