BRP hosted an Analyst Day in April at its Rotax facility in Austria and outlined long- term strategic priorities centered around growth, agility and lean enterprise. Conder also reports that BRP's year- round products "offer attractive opportu- nity via new segments and more aggressive go-to-market strategy." Season product strategy will "focus on maintaining leading developed market share (innovation), while expanding distribution." "Organic growth to stem primarily from YearRound products (new segments) where significant whitespace exists in ATVs (low- and mid-cc), SSVs (utility) and On-Road/Spy- der (cruiser 2/3 of N.A. motorcycle industry, younger demographic)." Conder rates DOO stock as "Outperform." THE GENERAL DEBUTS SINGLE-SEAT CLASS As part of Polaris' new partnership of the Grand National Cross Country Series (GNCC) to sponsor GNCC's newly added Single-Seat Class, The General was the first race of the season to offer the class. KALI PROTECTIVES LAUNCHES NEW SHIVA HELMET The Shiva is Kali Protectives' newest offering for the off-road market, and at 1050 grams, it is the lightest and smallest DOT full-face on the market. Kali Protectives' products are unique in the motorcycle industry in that the foam and shell are in-molded. That means the two com- ponents are one piece, and that enables Kali to make lighter and thinner shells, which means in an impact, the shell can begin transferring energy into the foam sooner. Kali Protectives considers itself an indus- try leader in innovation, so the company has continued to evolve its manufacturing process by introducing a unique multi density foam liner. With the use of geometric shapes, the foam liner helps to spread impact loads over a larger surface area and better absorb hits. Kali has combined this multi density foam, called Composite Fusion Plus, with a softer layer around the head for lower speed impacts. As the company has continued to evolve this process and test new ideas, Kali discov- ered a triangular pyramid shape that helped dissipate energy even better. When it was tested in one of Kali's existing bicycle full-face helmets, the company found it could pass DOT certification without making any com- promises in foam density, shell thickness, size or weight. Taking what Kali learned from testing, the company designed the Shiva to incorporate this new energy dissipa- tion technology (Composite Fusion 3), as well as meeting other goals — like reduced size and weight. By reducing the size and weight of the Shiva, Kali was able to create a safer helmet overall that also performs measurably better in rotational impacts. The smaller volume also helps to reduce rider fatigue. NOHVCC ADDS PROJECT MANAGER The National Off-Highway Vehicle Conser- vation Council announced the addition of Marc Hildesheim as project manager. He will be working with the Private Lands Team and the Public Lands Team as staff liaison, will be assisting with NOHVCC Man- agement Solutions (NMS) projects, creating additional NOHVCC Tools and working with the rest of the staff, Board of Directors and NOHVCC State and Associate State Partners to create a positive future for OHV recreation.
