FOCUS PSB Tire & Wheel www.PowersportsBusiness.com Powersports Business • June 13, 2016 • 21 ITP announced that it will launch the new Tsunami wheel for ATVs and side-by-side vehicles in August. The third wheel in ITP's Storm Series product line, the Tsunami comes in two styles and offers a modern take on a classic, eight-spoke wheel design. The all-new ITP Storm Series Tsunami side-by-side and ATV wheel features a classic eight-spoke design, flat black finish, center cap and handsome milled accents on the beadlock ring and window edges. "Our third offering in ITP's Storm Series line, the Tsunami is a contemporary inter- pretation of the classic eight-spoke design," said Rhett Turpin, head of ITP Sales. "It comes in two versions — single beadlock for total tire security and 'simulated' beadlock for value- minded consum- ers who want that beadlock look." The Tsunami wheels are expected to arrive in dealerships in August. Two sizes will be available for both the beadlock and simulated versions — 14-inch and 15-inch — in all popular bolt patterns. The lightweight Tsunami wheel is as rugged as they come and incorporates ITP's proprietary "Rock Armor" inner wheel lip to provide vehicle owners with maximum wheel strength against breakage from rocks and debris. The Tsunami's simulated beadlock wheel is further strengthened with "Rock Armor" outer lip protection. ITP engineers created the Tsunami wheel from the same super-light, superior strength aluminum alloy that's also used in the other two Storm Series wheels, the Hurricane and the Tornado. The result is a wheel with unmatched structural integrity and a load capacity rating of 1,200 pounds. Both versions are backed by ITP's limited lifetime warranty. "Wheel strength is the hallmark of ITP's Storm Series wheel line," added Turpin. "That's why we named each wheel in the Storm Series after the most powerful forces in nature. Riders can only conquer the world's most challenging terrain when they use tires and wheels that are up to the task." MSRP for the simulated beadlock is expected to be in the $110-120 range. The beadlock versions will sell in the $160-195 price point. STI'S CHICANE MAKES PODIUM FINISH "Monster" Matt Burroughs, racing his Monster Energy Polaris RZR equipped with STI Chicane RX tires, powered to a second-place finish in the UTV Pro Produc- tion class — eighth overall among UTV rac- ers — at the Laughlin Desert Classic. This two-day, combined-time event is part of the Best In The Desert Racing Association. "The 32-inch STI Chicane tires were simply amazing with how rough it was on Day 2 of this race," Burroughs said. "I was able to keep it pinned through all the chop and deep holes on the course." GBC LAUNCHES INDUSTRY-FIRST 10-PLY UTV TIRE GBC Motorsports has releasd its Kanati Mongrel UTV tire in 10-ply rated construc- tion. Available in all current sizes, the new 10-ply rated Mongrel will provide drivers with an improved sidewall for greater punc- ture resistance, a smoother ride and increased overall reliability. For more than 20 years, GBC Motorsports has paved the way for aftermarket ATV and UTV tires. Along with the first 8-ply rated radial ATV/UTV tire, and the first 1,000-lb capacity ATV/UTV tire, GBC Motorsports introduced the Kanati Mongrel as the industry's first DOT-approved tire built specifi- cally for side-by-sides. Now four years after its 2012 debut, the new 10-ply rated Kanati Mongrel radial tire features a re-engineered carcass and sidewall, all while keeping the tire weight to a mini- mum. With the growing size and increasing horsepower of modern sport UTVs, Mongrel tires are sure to remain the preferred choice of professional and recreational drivers. MV AGUSTA, PIRELLI PARTNER ON DIABLO BRUTALE MV Agusta and Pirelli have been working together for several decades and, since 2011, the historic Italian motorcycle manufacturer has decided to rely only on Pirelli to equip all its models. Now, the Diablo Brutale from Pirelli has been chosen as origi- nal equipment on the new MV Agusta Bru- tale 800. MV Agusta has decided to pay hom- age to the new Pirelli tire through some graphical elements. The Diablo Rosso III logo appears on the tank's side, while the typical "thunder" groove of the tread pattern, which represents a tire's trademark, appears on the tank as well as on the front fender plus both sides of the tail.
