28 • June 13, 2016 • Powersports Business ATV/UTV www.PowersportsBusiness.com Can-Am had a 1-2 finish at Round 6 of the 2016 GNCC racing series. Can-Am X-Team racer Jordan Phillips won the 10 a.m. overall and the 4x4 Pro class at the Limestone 100 Grand National Cross Country race in Springville, Ind. Fellow Can-Am Renegade 4x4 ATV racer Robert Smith joined Phillips on both the overall and class podiums, giving Can-Am a 1-2 finish on the day. "The Limestone 100 was one of the most challenging, muddy GNCC races in quite some time. Anytime you can end a muddy two-hour GNCC race with a victory, three in the top five and still maintain the 4x4 Pro class points lead, you have to be pleased," said Jeff Leclerc, racing project leader, Can-Am. "Jordan Phillips earned another big win this year and continues to make huge strides in his chase for the championship." Round six of the GNCC series was a muddy mess and one that challenged both man and machine, as only 51 of 258 total riders in the 10 a.m. session were able to com- plete all five laps. The filthy conditions were no match for Phillips and his Can-Am Ren- egade 1000R ATV. The Renegade ATV's awe- some power propelled him to the holeshot, while its dependable performance helped Phillips stay in the top two the entire race in spite of dozens of deep mud holes, numerous lapped riders and fierce competitors. KYMCO OFFERING UP TO $2K OFF SELECT 2016 MODELS In celebration of achieving new milestones in the U.S. powersports industry, KYMCO has announced a "Roll Back the Savings" sale in which consumers can purchase select 2016 KYMCO ATVs, UTVs and scooters at prices comparable to those in place when the com- pany first entered the U.S. market. Over the last decade, KYMCO has suc- cessfully partnered with other powersports companies to manufacturer private label quality vehicles. That experience allowed the company to rapidly increase the depth of its product line and, more importantly, to build an "economy of scale" which offers the consumer the lowest pricing on KYMCO brand vehicles. "The 'Roll Back the Sav- ings' sale reflects the com- pany's willingness to share with consumers that we have set a new benchmark in qual- ity, features and benefits that has made KYMCO products the best value in the market today," said KYMCO USA director of mar- keting Rick Pawelka. YAMAHA AUCTIONS VIKING VI SE TO SUPPORT FOUNDATION Yamaha Motor Corp., USA, again provided a new Special Edition (SE) Viking VI side- by-side to the SEAL-Naval Special Warfare Family Foundation (NSW) for auction at the foundation's annual fundraiser near San Diego, Calif. The Assembled in USA Viking VI helped raise $30,000 towards the organization's mis- sion of supporting SEAL members' families. This marks Yamaha's third consecutive year of backing NSW, raising more than $70,000 in funding for the much-deserved recipients. The SEAL-Naval Special Warfare Family Foundation is a San Diego-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2008 that raises awareness and funds for special pro- grams in direct support of the NSW families on a local, national and global scale. "Yamaha is honored to continue its sup- port of the SEAL-NSW Family Foundation going on three years now, especially consid- ering their important mission," said Steve Nessl, Yamaha's ATV/SxS group marketing manager. "With the funds raised by the auc- tioned Viking VI SE going toward assisting the SEAL-NSW families who sacrifice so much for our freedoms, we hope the event and donor support continues to raise aware- ness for this respected organization." "Yamaha's vehicles have been very popular in our auction the last few years, bringing in more than $70,000 for SEAL members' fami- lies," said William R. Fenick, CAPT, USN (Ret), executive director for SEAL-NSW. "We are dedicated to supporting the needs of these important families, and partners like Yamaha allow us to provide the right programs." In addition to all of the great features of the Yamaha Vikings, the 2016 Viking VI SE is available in a high-quality Carbon Metallic painted bodywork with aluminum wheels, a soft sun top, mud flaps, over fenders and under seat storage, all at an MSRP of $14,999.
