38 • OCTOBER 2014 • WORLD FENCE NEWS Michigan Chapter AFA honors stalwart of the organization at 2014 table top trade show Earlier this year at its annual ta- ble top trade show in Livonia, Mich., the Michigan Chapter AFA acknowl- edged the Jim Wright family, whose patriarch was a stalwart of the chapter for many years. Attending were Jim Wright's son, Jim Jr., and his son, David. "Jim's dad was a pioneer in the Michigan Chapter, and was a mem- ber in 1970 or earlier," noted events chairman Dick Fromm. "He was our president and a leader in the fence industry. Jim passed in 2000, but his wife, Gwen, who also was a force in the early days, is still alive. We want to thank the Wrights for their devotion to our chapter. They will always be Michigan AFA members." Fromm noted that the table top show was "a huge success," and en- joyed a record attendance. "We have not seen such numbers and enthusiasm in a long time," said Fromm. "It was like old times. Tom Bement, our president, would like to thank both vendors and attendees for their support." He said approximately 120 people were on hand for the luncheon during the show. "We are proud to say Michigan Chapter AFA! Strong!" Fromm com- mented.
