They are as follows: Fences: All fences located or to be located on residentially developed properties shall comply with the fol- lowing requirements: a. Only standard fencing materi- als shall be used. b. Wooden fences, including any posts, shall consist of materials pro- Fence ordinances continued from page 62 duced in a lumberyard or mill and all of the components shall be of nominal size. c. All fence posts shall be of the same material and shall have a uni- form appearance from ground to top. d. All fencing materials shall be of the same composition and be com- plementary to the posts. e. Painted fences shall be of one color which is compatible with the color of the home located on the par- cel. f. Any existing fence which does not conform to the foregoing require- ments shall be brought into compli- ance. g. All fences shall be kept in good repair and shall not be allowed to de- teriorate to any unsound or unsightly condition. Repairs shall be made with ma- terials that match the balance of the fence. h. The construction of two fences on a property line by the same owner is prohibited. This section shall apply to all future fence installations. i. All new fence installations shall be erected with the smooth side facing outward; all posts shall be located on the inside of the fence. Fence regulations in residential districts: a. Height: A fence shall not be higher that six feet. b. Yard requirements: c. A fence shall not be erected in a required front yard. d. To qualify for the Les Grube Me- morial Design Award, the nominated project must employ an innovative use of chain link fence materials (fabric, framework, and/or gates) on a com- mercial or industrial project; be con- ceived by a professional architectural or engineering firm; and be installed by a professional fence contractor. CLFMI now accepting applications for the 2014 Les Grube Memorial Design Award The Chain Link Fence Manufac- turers Institute (CLFMI) announced that applications are now being ac- cepted for the Les Grube Memorial Design Award, which is named for CLFMI past president Les Grube. The award was created to high- light the versatility and functionality of chain link fencing products. CLFMI recognizes the designing architect and installing contractor of the project that is deemed to represent the most unique and practical way of incorporating chain link fencing ma- terials. The architect and contractor each received a specially-designed plaque and a cash award of $2,500 given to the designing architect and $1,000 to the installing contractor. The program is jointly funded by CLFMI and the Les Grube family. The award was established in 1984 during Grube's term as CLFMI president.
