www.PowersportsBusiness.com AFTERMARKET Powersports Business • September 6, 2016 • 43 MSR reveals 2017 off-road collection Summit series one of seven complete gear lines in multiple colorways The 2017 Malcolm Smith Racing catalog checks in at 140 pages and features the latest riding gear, including boots, gloves, goggles, pants, jerseys, jackets and helmets. "MSR gear is purpose-built for the serious off-road rider," said MSR brand manager Brent Harden. "The guy who rides hard, hits trees, blasts through pucker bushes and bashes in skidplates needs apparel that will stand up to the harshest terrain and the worst conditions." The aptly named Summit series is the top of the MSR line for 2017. "The Summit jersey and pant lead the way of our Xplorer Series," Harden said. "It is ideal for everything from an all-day ride to a multi- day adventure." Highly durable materials are matched to trail-worthy features, including cargo pockets in the pants and anti-abrasion materials on the jersey forearms — all designed with the goal of taking your next ride over the top. The Ascent series is MSR's mid-range gear. "Ascent provides serious off-road riders with most of the features found in the heavy duty Summit line, but in a lighter weight and lower price," Harden said. Augmenting the Ascent and Summit series is the Cold Pro Jersey for when things get really nasty. Designed to eliminate heat loss, the Cold Pro utilizes polythermal fabric with a plush fleece lining to keep the rider warm. "It is also perfect as a base layer under a jacket or waterproof shell like our Rove jacket," Harden said. Combining modern technology with leg- endary style, the Legend 71 line pays homage to Malcolm Smith's timeless look without com- promising on performance. For the rider looking for a more modern day look, the NXT is MSR's performance leading product line. "NXT is even better than before. It fits bet- ter, performs better and lasts longer than any race wear on the market," Harden said. "And our NXT Air ventilated gear is our top perform- ing hot weather product." MSR's Axxis basic riding gear still pro- vides the best bang for the buck, according to Harden. "It is lightweight, comfortable and durable. It looks good and performs even better, but it won't break the bank," Harden said. "Most peo- ple may not recognize the depth and breadth of the MSR range. With our Summit, Ascent, Leg- end 71, Waterproof Rove jacket and Undbound over pant, NXT, NXT Air and Axxis apparel, we have seven complete gear lines in multiple colorways." Each of the individual gear lines are sup- ported by three specific helmets, two styles of boots, chest protectors and a full range of acces- sories from tool pouches to hydro packs. "MSR is more than just moto," Harden added. "We are a brand made up of riders, racers and enthusiasts who share one com- mon goal: improving your next ride. We are off-road!" MSR products are available exclusively through Tucker Rocky Distributing. PSB The Ascent series is among the 2017 Malcolm Smith Racing collection. MSR offers 140 pages of off-road riding gear in its 2017 catalog.
