We hope you will join us as experts share their insights on The State of the Industry: Trends, Developments, Challenges. In addition there will be a Q&A session. More details about this event will be posted soon on the Fuel Oil News web- site, www.fueloilnews.com, and we will also be sending email announcements with details to Fuel Oil News readers. In this issue, meanwhile, we profile Bantam Home & Energy, a marketer that is whole-heartedly taking the "whole-house" approach to business. In fact, Peter A. Aziz, the president and owner of the company, says he sees the whole-house approach as "a moral obligation." Turn to page 25 to find out why. On the environmental front, the industry is continuing to engage in innovative efforts including, but not limited to, "greener," cleaner fuel oil. Take a look at "Balancing Act" (pg. 16) about a collaboration that aims to plant trees to counter fuel emissions. Pete Davis, co-founder and CEO of GreenPrint, calls his company's "Zero" reduced emissions fuel program "a turnkey sustainability program." It was established by GreenPrint in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation. GreenPrint's goal is to enable fleet operators to minimize their carbon footprint. GreenPrint first measures a fleet's carbon footprint, consults with the fleet owners/operators on the best emission reduction practices, and invests in certified offset projects counterbalancing the fleet's environmental impact. Further, GreenPrint invests additional amounts in local tree planting and greenscape projects. In our Business Operations section (beginning on pg. 20) we note that Leslie Anderson has been hired as the new president and CEO of the Propane Gas Association of New England. "Leslie has a distinguished career in the propane industry at Dead River Company, serving as director of risk and corporate counsel for fourteen years and most recently in Maine state government where she led the Bureau of Remediation and Waste Management for the Maine Department of Environmental Protection," Joe Rose said. Anderson is succeeding Rose, who held the job for nine years. "I have known Leslie for ten years and found her to be an energetic, engaging fighter for our industry," Rose added. Anderson started her new job on Jan. 3. "We plan to work together for the first six months of 2017 to ensure a smooth transition for the PGANE membership and staff," Rose said. Finally, the Empire State Energy Association recently announced changes in its lead- ership. Marcia Booth of Main-Care Energy, Albany, N.Y., is the new chair of the board of directors, the association said in a statement. "Our long-time executive, Tom Peters, has retired from our association—while still being available to staff, our members, and the industry on a consulting basis," the association said. Kris DeLair continues to staff the association office in Clifton Park, N.Y., and can be reached at kdelair@eseany.org. These changes follow changes that occurred last year, when the New York Oil Heating Association, representing marketers in New York City, and the Oil Heat Institute of Long Island split from ESEA to form the New York State Energy Coalition. That development was covered in the August 2016 issue of Fuel Oil News ("OHILI, NYOHA, Leave ESEA, Make NYSEC," pg. 27). l F O N 8 FEBRUARY 2017 | FUEL OIL NEWS | www.fueloilnews.com Fuel Oil News Announces Upcoming Webinar STEPHEN BENNETT
