24 • october 2017 • world fence news Encon Electronics opens new Sacramento branch with a bang Access controls and perimeter security wholesale distributor Encon Electronics marked the opening of its second branch and warehouse with a huge grand open- ing celebration at the new office in West Sacramento on Friday, Aug. 25. The event in- cluded a table top show and tacos for everyone. The event was originally sched- uled as a small barbecue, but En- con organizers decided to change the format one week before the event when they found out how many representa- tives were plan- ning to attend. Encon VP of Sales and Operations Jeff Harris said he was overwhelmed by the number of vendors who traveled to Sacramento with such short notice. "After 33 years in the industry, expanding to a second location is a big deal for Encon," he said. "We wanted to do something special to honor this milestone. We contacted the manu- facturers three weeks before the date of the opening, and we immediately started receiving positive responses. "The event evolved from there, and we couldn't be more grateful for the support and enthusiasm we re- ceived from all the manufacturers about our expansion." A total of 15 representatives from 14 different companies attended, and several additional manufacturers sup- ported the event by donating products for the new demo area or raffle prizes for the opening. A taco bar lunch was provided courtesy of the manufacturers, includ- ing All-O-Matic; EMX Industries; HySecurity/Nice; DoorKing; Miller Edge; Infinity RFID; Diablo Controls; LiftMaster; and Linear Pro Access. Encon's Tim Nordstrom said, "Once we heard how many of our customers were coming, we had to cater the event. Thanks to all the m a n u f a c t u r e r s that generously offered to spon- sor the lunch. With this level of support from our vendors, we know the Sacramento office will be a success. "We an- nounced the opening of the Sacramento office just weeks before and not only did the vendors show up, over 30 Encon dealers attended," Nordstrom added. "These folks were able to tour the Sacramento office and Encon's second fully stocked warehouse. They had an opportunity to visit with Encon and manufacturer representatives and see the latest products available in our in- dustry. "Some received one-on-one train- ing on our new website from IT chief Jeffrey Harris, and others placed their first online orders. Overall, we couldn't be more pleased with the event or more excited about the Sacra- mento office and its potential."
