Celebrating our 31st year of publication • Be sure to visit us online at www.worldfencenews.com MAY 2015 With security being a growing concern at institutions across the country, Tennessee State University (TSU) in Nashville recently decided to take bids for 2,400 lineal feet of 7' high ornamental steel fencing and gates to aid in securing its west Nash- ville campus. Bids were to be received by No- vember 11, 2014, with completion of the project no later than December 31, 2014. After a lengthy bid process, George Herring, TSU senior project manager, announced that Langford Fence Company, Inc. of Waverly, Ten- nessee was awarded the project. According to Vicki H. Langford, president of Langford Fence Compa- ny, the notice to proceed was issued on November 26, 2014 with a very tight completion deadline pending. The fence chosen to be installed was 7' tall, 3-rail, Versai ™ V2 com- mercial panels on 2 ½" posts, manu- factured by Fortress Fence Products of Richardson, Texas. Working closely with their south- eastern sales manager, Pat Bailey, and in-house staff, Jeff Schulz and Matt Visconti, the fi rst load of materials se- cured from Fence Brokers of Bryant, Arkansas arrived December 9, 2014. Understanding that the deadline was looming and never knowing how December weather will be in Tennes- see, Mark Langford, vice-president of Langford Fence Company, made the decision to use their best installation crew, headed by Mike Janiro, to ac- complish the project on time. Working long hours and week- ends, with some good old Tennessee limestone to deal with to make it in- teresting, Mike and his crew, con- sisting of brothers Roy and Charlie, son-in-law Lucas Rodriguez, Donnie Long and Jimmy Stemrich, put the pedal to the metal and completed the project right on schedule. Celebrating 60 years in business, Langford Fence Company is a wom- an-owned, family-run business with sales and installation of a full line of residential, commercial and industrial fencing services, primarily in Tennes- see and Kentucky. Additionally, they are the exclu- sive producers of the "LangFence" system, a full round post and rail treated pine fence available in 1, 2, 3 and 4 rails and a doweled rail fence available in 1, 2, and 3 rails. Langford Fence undertakes "crash course" to secure university campus Top and bottom photos, in order to help secure its west Nashville campus, Tennessee State University authorized Langford Fence Company to install 2,400 lineal feet of Versai V2 7' high 3-rail commercial ornamental steel fence and gates from Fortress Fence Products. The project was set up on a very tight completion schedule, which was successfully met by Langford's top installation crew, headed by Mike Janiro, working long hours and week- ends and overcoming numerous on- site challenges. In photo second from top, crew member Lucas Rodriguez sets and plumbs one of the many 2 ½" posts used on the job. In photo third from top, Janiro (seated) and Jimmy Stemrich weld hinges onto the main entry gate. Other than some tough dig- ging conditions and a tight schedule, the Tennessee State University project went smootly and was completed with no additional complications.
