WOOD GATE HARDWARE AMERISTARFENCE.COM | 888-333-3422 FENCE PRODUCTS MAXIMA ® Encon Electronics helps launch DoorKing/Nice U.S. Tour 2015 DoorKing, Inc. and Nice Group USA (formerly Nice/Apollo) kicked off their U.S. Tour 2015 on April 7 at Encon Electronics's training facility in Hayward, Calif. The two leading manufacturers are cooperating in a series of product promotional seminars with their in- dependent distributors throughout the United States. "Encon Electronics has led the industry as an independent distribu- tor for over 30 years and was the per- fect location to begin this nationwide tour," said Encon's VP of sales and operations, Jeff Harris. DoorKing's regional sales manag- er, Lamar Jackson, led his presenta- tion with technical programming and then provided an overview of their ex- tensive telephone line options. Encon's sales director, Joe Weber, pointed out, "In light of the changes to traditional phone service, DoorK- ing has developed several new meth- ods of connection for both voice and data and several exciting, new access control products." Jackson outlined some of DoorKing's new products, beginning with the model 1515 keypad. "The new model 1515-080 digital lock entry keypad offers a 400 code capacity, RX input, a programma- ble strike time and egress time, and a low power mode designed for so- lar operation but it is the NFC (Near Field Communication) feature that is so revolutionary," said Jackson. "The NFC enables a digital manager func- tion that is compatible with Android phones." This new keypad allows for "Smart Open" and other cellu- lar-based control options. Dusty Beeding, sales director of DoorKing, and president and CEO of Nice Group, Davide Pesca, addressed the large group of Encon dealers. Pesca welcomed the attendees and said, "I hope you fi nd value in our products and how we explain our products to you today. I am very ex- cited for what we are doing here and thank you again for coming." "DoorKing has been around a long time, since 1948, and we have always supported independent distrib- utors such as Encon," stated Beeding. "We are an independent manufactur- er just as Nice is, and we are going to continue that way. We are going to continue to support this as a team effort. We want to show that we can work together as manufacturers even though we are competitors. There is enough room for all of us indepen- dents and we are going to continue to support that, plain and simple. Thank you again for coming and for support- ing us and Encon. I look forward to continuing to do business for many, many years." Jackson followed their announce- ment with an outline of more "next generation" DoorKing products, in- cluding the updated DoorKing prox reader, the new 1524, and their re-de- signed tracker boards. "Our tracker boards now offer more fl exibility and compatibility with alarm system interface along with a wireless option. "Plus, the old 500 foot weigand rule no longer applies. Our new track- er boards allow up to 2,000 feet/4,000 feet separation from controller to the tracker," he said. Jackson concluded the DoorKing segment with an overview of its slide, swing and barrier operators. Next, Nice's East Coast and West Coast managers, David Hoel and Or- lando Aguirre, conducted the Nice portion of the seminar. They intro- duced their redesigned web site, and covered their comprehensive gate continued on page 76 Above, left to right: Davide Pesca, pres- ident and CEO of Nice Group USA, Jeff Harris, VP of sales and operations for Encon Electronics, and Dusty Beed- ing, sales director for DoorKing, re- ported many positive comments from dealers on hand for the kickoff session of U.S. Tour 2015.
