www.PowersportsBusiness.com DIGEST he now has stepped out and pursued his vision of creating a premier Polaris RZR off-road racing team. "This race team is the culmination of nine years in off-road, five years of professional racing and the encouragement and support of countless people across the sport. I am proud beyond words to be lining up with the best family, most prepared team, and best sponsors," stated Craig Scanlon, owner/ driver Scanlon Motorsports Group. Scanlon took an all-in approach to build- ing the Scanlon Motorsports Group. No detail was spared; the SMG team worked diligently to not only assemble a program with the best equipment but also to be pre- pared to come out of the gate and compete at a high level. Scanlon knows what it takes to win; he knows to be successful you need the combination of a superior race vehicle, a knowledgeable and experienced team and an equally experienced roster of drivers and co-drivers. Scanlon will handle the major- ity of all driving duties, with longtime co- driver Keith Redstrom handling the bulk of navigation. Veteran off-road racer Alan Kleinemas will act as SMG crew chief and will oversee the race prep and logistics for the team. "Being prepared is important to me and the entire SMG team, which is why we set out to build proper chase equip- ment, a proper pre-runner and of course, an unbelievable race vehicle. Having the best machinery and a solid team in theory means all we need to do is go out and do our job as drivers and crew," Scanlon said. SMG relied on the talents and knowledge of Mark Holz at Holz Racing Products to build what many believe to be the most advanced race RZR ever built. Holz and his team converted a Polaris RZR XP-4 Turbo into a lightweight and powerful two-seat race machine that at first glance resembles more of a class-10 race vehicle than a UTV. ARCTIC CAT RENEWS PARTNERSHIP WITH FFA Arctic Cat Inc. announced its renewal of its partnership with the National FFA Organization (FFA), the youth leadership organization dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of young people by developing their potential for premier lead- ership, personal growth and career success through agriculture education. Established last year, Arctic Cat and its participating dealers will continue to support local FFA chapters with grant and awareness programs to assist with youth scholarships, training and local events for FFA members. "We have been extremely happy with our relationship with FFA over the past year and are pleased to announce the renewal of our support of the chapter grant program," said Greg Williamson, Arctic Cat's chief market- ing officer. "The program has proven to be a great way for our dealers to partner locally with their agriculture community and, specifically, with their local FFA chapters." Arctic Cat and its participating dealers created a special cooperative program that actively drives participation in FFA's local chapter grant program, allowing resources to be directed to where they are most needed. In addition, the company displayed its key ATV and ROV machines — many of which are designed and built for the needs of farmers and agriculturists — at the National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis, Oct. 19-22. Arctic Cat will also promote FFA on its website and through its media partners. Added Williamson, "Supporting the farming and agriculture market, along with the young people in the communities where our dealers do business, is critically impor- tant to us. Partnering with FFA has given Arctic Cat the perfect opportunity to tie our dealers, the local community and the Arctic Cat brand together in a way that helps all those involved."
