FOCUS PSB V-Twin www.PowersportsBusiness.com Powersports Business • April 6, 2015 • 23 2-into-2 exhaust expected to be a hit BY DAVE MCMAHON EDITOR IN CHIEF Dealers looking for a service department enhancement would have been able to find the ideal shop addition in February. In addition to extensive new exhaust product, Vance & Hines continued to tout its latest FG3 Fuelpak. And while the product has been available for about a year now, it's showing no signs of slowing as dealers continue to gobble it up. "This has been Vance & Hines' most suc- cessful product launch ever in the history of the company," Eddie Terejas, customer service director at Vance & Hines, told Pow- ersports Business at the V-Twin Expo in Cin- cinnati. "We've sold more products of this than any other product Vance & Hines has ever introduced." The FP3 is a flash unit that plugs into the stock ECV port and recalibrates the ECM. The performance results include increased horse- power and torque, quicker throttle response, smoother acceleration, improved low-speed operation and reduced operating temperature. "We have maps for all Vance & Hines exhausts on our website, and we can actually tune it. There's live customer service, so that the customer can contact Vance & Hines, and we can actually see what's going on on the motorcycle. That's really exciting because it's real fine tune for the late-model bikes," Terejas said. "The dealers love it. It's about the dealer making profit." There were plenty of new-for-2015 products that fit the same mold. The Vance & Hines Hi-Output Grenades 2-into-2 exhaust, with a three-step muffler design, is made for Dynas, Sportsters and Softails. It's available in chrome, black and black with a brushed end cap. End caps are CNC-machined billet aluminum. The chrome version retails for $599; black is $699. Both were scheduled to be available at the end of March. "They have a nice, deep throaty sound — a little bit of a bark to them," he said. The new-for-2015 VO2 90-degree Air Intake is available for Touring, Softail, Dyna and Sportster models. It provides performance gains and includes a washable, high-flow filter. "It's a product that customers have been asking for," Terejas said. "It offers great per- formance and nice stainless pieces, and it's available in black cover or chrome cover. The customers just kept asking and asking. The only thing out there was the Screaming Eagle product, and they wanted something different. We've given them the look and finish they've wanted." PSB Vance & Hines drops Grenade into market Vance & Hines had heavy interest in the brand's new-for-2015 High Output Grenades for Harley-Davidson Sport- ster, Dyna and Softail models during V-Twin Expo. Eddie Terejas, customer service director at Vance & Hines, said dealers at V-Twin Expo were excited about the brand's 2015 products.
