FOCUS PSB V-Twin 28 • April 6, 2015 • Powersports Business www.PowersportsBusiness.com OTHER V-TWIN MOTORCYCLES The 1990s and 2000s saw a boom in pro- duction of custom V-twin motorcycles. After the recession of 2008 there has been a general decline in both the number of companies build- ing these large-displacement motorcycles, and in the interest they garner on KBB.com Victory motorcycles took eight of the spots on the list of the top 10 other V-twin motor- cycles, while Indian took the other two spots. The 2014 Indian Chief Vintage was the most viewed motorcycle on the list, receiving 23 percent more KBB.com web hits than the No. 2 bike on the list. Two of the older models on this list also showed the greatest decreases in KBB.com web hits, down 20 percent for the 2004 Victory King- pin and 24 percent for the 2004 Victory Vegas. Interest remains strong for the Victory V92C for the 1999 model year, which is the first year of Victory production. Other manufacturers still receiving hearty interest on KBB.com, but whose bikes do not appear on the top 10 list, are Big Dog, American Ironhorse, Hyosung and Excelsior-Henderson. 2014 MODEL-YEAR V-TWINS (EXCEPT HARLEY-DAVIDSON) The Yamaha Bolt and Bolt R-Spec by far outdistanced the other 2014 V-twin motor- cycles on the list of the top 10 2014 model-year non-Harley V-Twin motorcycles. Three models, coincidently, saw gains of 48 percent in KBB.com web hits: the Victory Cross Country Tour, Honda Shadow 750 Phan- tom and Victory Vegas 8-Ball. The model to gain the most in KBB.com web hits on this list is the Yamaha Bolt R-Spec, which received 61 percent more KBB.com web hits to-date in 2015 (53 days) than it did in the 53 days before the new year began.
