Lynx adventure sled built for European market BRP has introduced the 2016 Lynx snowmo- biles developed for ultimate adventures, and the ultimate gear to ride them. Lynx snowmo- biles are only offered for sale in European and Russian markets. The Lynx Commander Touratech sled was developed in cooperation with Touratech AG, a motorcycle adventure gear manufacturer. This cooperation provided the basis for an adventure snowmobile that can be personal- ized from a wide selection of Touratech winter adventure accessories. It is based on the popu- lar Lynx Commander 800R E-TEC crossover sled, designed for long-haul trips in varying conditions and comes with special equipment and cargo space requirements. "We want to encourage people to experi- ence the world, whether by motorcycle or snowmobile. Touratech and BRP share the innovativeness, high-quality products and an urge to provide the best service for the custom- ers," said Martin Wickert, head of sales for Touratech AG. "Adventure motorcycling has been a grow- ing trend for years, and planning your trip and accessorizing your bike is a big part of the hobby," explained Jukka Jokinen, BRP's vice- president and regional general manager for Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. "Adventure snowmobilers share this passionate attention to detail with adventure bikers. The Lynx Com- mander Touratech model is designed to give them the means of realizing their dreams." The maiden voyage of the model started March 9 from Rovaniemi, Finland, when Wick- ert joined professional adventurer Sami Päivike for a snowmobile journey from the Arctic Cir- cle to the Arctic Ocean. EXTREMELY SPORTY XTRIM SLED Another novelty in the crossover segment is the Lynx Xtrim RE 800R E-TEC snowmobile — the sportiest Lynx crossover sled of all times. It features a 3,487-mm Powder- Max track, all-new Blade DS skis, a Rotax 800R E-TEC engine and the high-capacity KYB shocks also found in the renowned Lynx Rave RE sport sleds. The Xtrim RE sled is a combination of the Lynx racing heritage and innovations in deep-snow riding. It has been designed for experienced, thrill- seeking riders for aggressive riding on and off trail. BOONDOCKER UPGRADES The 2016 Lynx BoonDocker deep-snow sport lineup is wider than ever and introduces major updates that contribute to lightness and nim- bleness, maintaining the stability and climb- ing ability that BoonDocker sleds are known for. All BoonDocker models now feature the A-LFS+ front suspension, PPS2-DS rear sus- pension with new slide rails, and new Blade DS skis that have been designed especially for deep-snow riding. The new BoonDocker DS 4100 800R E-TEC model introduces the 4,414- mm long track with a 74-mm track profile. Both DS 4100 and DS 3900 sleds, along with the BoonDocker 3900 snowmobile, feature the renewed PPS²-DS rear suspension with new, tipped slide rails for improved agility and lighter maneuverability in deep snow. "Based on customer feedback, riders love the stability and climbing ability of Boon- Docker sleds, but expect more nimbleness," said Jokinen. "We address this expectation with the updates for the model year 2016, mak- ing BoonDocker models more responsive, yet predictable in deep-snow riding." NEW SKI-DOO COLORS Meanwhile, following North American dealer input, BRP has added two new colors to the 2016 Ski-Doo model lineup, plus an upgraded reverse feature. Spring buyers for the Summit X can now choose from the new Matte Black/Lava Red color combination, Matte Black/Sunburst Yel- low option or Black option. Riders looking for the new Renegade Enduro model will be able to choose from a new Black look or Northern Lichen. In addi- tion, Enduro buyers choosing the 900 ACE or 1200 4-TEC w/iTC engine will get an Electro- mechanical reverse for easier operation. "Bret is highly respected and one of the nicest, most sincere personalities in the snowmobile industry, and we look forward to future sales and growth under his leader- ship, knowledge and endorsement of the FXR brand." RSSM has hired Bryan Bennett to act as sales manager for the Western U.S. He will work with Bret Rasmussen to increase the presence of FXR in the western U.S. and mountain market segments. A certified RRS instructor, Bennett has spent years riding in FXR apparel and brings experience in profes- sional sales management. "Advanced backcountry sleds create needs for advanced gear in extreme conditions. We have a number of variables in the backcoun- try that create concerns for sledders, from severe weather and avalanche conditions to machine breakdowns and adverse snow conditions. I don't need my riding gear to be one of the variables — that's why I use FXR gear every day. FXR builds product I can trust to meet the demands of the backcountry rider. I am excited to take it to the next level, working together with FXR and Bryan to give backcountry riders a safer and more pleasur- able experience," Rasmussen said.
