Bob Parsons' GO AZ Motorcycles is host- ing a four-part ride series this summer to benefit Big Bully Rescue and Mayday Pit Bull Rescue. The Summer Saves rides will be held twice in June and July, beginning at the GO AZ Motorcycles' Peoria, Ariz., location and ending at select destinations that provide relaxing, scenic outings for participants. A $5 per bike donation is being requested, and additional monetary and dog supply donations will be collected with all proceeds benefiting the rescue organizations. "Our founder Bob Parsons is passion- ate about giving back to the community, and the team here at GO AZ Motorcycles strives to uphold that example," said Shawn Ringwood, general manager of GO AZ Motorcycles. "The rescue organizations we've partnered with work toward a great cause, and I think bikers can relate to the pit bulls; they're both a misunderstood breed." Big Bully Rescue is a nonprofit organiza- tion dedicated to saving shelter, stray and abandoned bully breed — and the misun- derstood Molosser breed — dogs. They also work to provide ongoing support to adoptive families and advocate against the negative image of these breeds. Mayday Pit Bull Rescue & Advocacy is devoted to rescuing, rehabili- tating and securing placement for pit bulls and pit bull mixes into conscientious, perma- nent and loving homes. They also focus on community education promoting responsible pit bull ownership and raising awareness for breed specific legislation. Perhaps most well known as the founder of GoDaddy, Bob Parsons is an American entrepreneur and philanthropist. In the past few years, Parsons has donated more than $100 million through The Bob & Renee Par- sons Foundation, and his commitment to supporting those in need expands throughout his various companies. The Summer Saves rides are just one example of charitable initia- tives lead by his dedicated staff. The all-new, aggressively styled FZ-10 offers serious power and agility thanks to its R1-derived engine, chassis and fully adjust- able KYB suspension, and liter-class riders will appreciate the FZ-10's torquey power delivery and corner-carving precision. The FZ-10 is powered by the latest-gener- ation R1-based crossplane-crankshaft engine, which has been expertly tuned to provide plenty of low- to mid-range torque and power. The intake ports and valves, combustion cham- ber, camshafts and compression ratio have all been designed specifically for the all-new FZ-10, to achieve outstanding rideability in a wide variety of situations. The distinctive, exterior styling of the FZ-10 is defined by a dynamic, mass-forward sil- houette with lean, yet muscular and athletic lines. A small front cowl, full LED lighting, and exposed engine combine to create the visual expression of spirited performance, while the upright riding position provides for a comfort- able, yet sporty, slightly forward lean. From sport riding, to commuting, to long-distance adventures, the new FZ-10 is ready to impress, with its Yamaha Chip-Con- trolled Throttle (YCC-T), D-Modes (three different riding modes), traction control (three different settings), cruise control (Using the left handlebar switchgear, rid- ers can easily select or adjust a set speed for improved rider comfort when traveling long distances.), anti-lock braking system (ABS) and full LCD instrumentation. The 2017 FZ-10 will be available in Armor Gray and Matte Raven Black, and will retail for $12,999. The bikes began arriving in Yamaha dealerships in late June. ALL-NEW 2017 SCR950 Also as part of the 2017 model reveal, Yamaha introduced the SCR950, an all-new motor- cycle that joins the company's "Sport Heri- tage" model lineup, which already includes the VMAX, XSR900 and SR400. The SCR950 combines classic Yamaha styl- ing, tracing its roots back to the iconic DT250, with modern components in a motorcycle that blurs the line between cruiser and sport bike. A tough explorer with scrambler styl- ing, the SCR950 is powered by a 942cc (58-cubic-inch), air-cooled, 60-degree V-twin, fuel-injected engine with four valves per cylinder. The SCR950 hearkens back to the past with its wide and tall handlebars, retro-racing number-plate-styled side cov- ers, fork gaiters, wire-spoked aluminum rims, 2-into-1 exhaust pipe with upswept muffler and long low-profile seat. All that timeless style blends perfectly with modern engineering touches like an LCD speed- ometer, LED taillight, flangeless fuel tank, powerful brakes with wave-type rotors and low-maintenance carbon-fiber-core belt final drive. The SCR950's open and flexible riding position gives the rider confidence to han- dle whatever the road presents. The dou- ble-cradle frame features sporty geometry with centrally mounted footpegs for nimble, responsive handling. And the front and rear suspension systems are tuned to provide comfort and agility while contributing to the bike's stylishly low profile. The SCR950 will be available in two distinc- tive colors: Charcoal Silver and Rapid Red. Each color scheme is complemented by racing- inspired red, white and black graphics with bold, yet tasteful, accent stripes. The 2017 SCR950 will have a suggested retail price of $8,699 and will be available in Yamaha dealerships beginning in July.
