METZELER ROADTEC 01 NAMED TOP TIRE The new Roadtec 01, the tire launched by Metzeler in 2016, won the 2016 sport tour- ing tire comparative test made by the German magazine Motorrad. The comparison, won by the Roadtec 01, topped No. 2 Dunlop RoadSmart III, No. 3 Continental Road Attack 2 EVO and No. 4. Michelin Pilot Road 4. The comparative test was conducted using tires in 120/70 ZR 17 front and 180/55 ZR 17 rear sizes mounted on a Honda CB1000R. The test took place in France at the Circuit de Automobile Karland Mireval owned by the Goodyear-Dunlop Group and in the streets around the circuit for the road test. The testers from Motorrad took into account several factors testing the tires. All tires were tested in two specific tests, a road test to simulate daily use and a wet test on the track. Each test included parameters such as handling, steering precision, grip and stabil- ity in cornering, grip under acceleration and the braking distance at 100 km/h, plus many other factors. EXPANSION AHEAD FOR KLOCK WERKS IN SOUTH DAKOTA Brian Klock, a 2015 Powersports Business Industry Leader of the Year, has discussed plans to add a $600,000 warehouse at Klock Werks to "boost its growing distribution efforts for motorcycle parts," according to The Daily Republic of Mitchell, S.D.
